The Home Protection and Loss Prevention discount is applied to Farmers Smart Plan Home® (FSPH) policies, and the Home Safety discount is applied to Farmers Next Generation® (Next Gen) policies, based on the presence of qualifying loss prevention measures or green features. These include:
• Connected Home, which is available in Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon and Wisconsin, and is coming soon in more states.*
• Whole House Water Leak Detection, which is available in all states except Florida.
Connected Home
As part of our commitment to bring innovative products and ideas to the marketplace, Farmers® entered into a relationship with security and smart home automation company, ADT®, which is offering discounts to customers and other consumers on eligible professionally installed and do-it-yourself (DIY) devices and services when referred by a Farmers representative.
By purchasing qualifying ADT devices and services, Farmers new business and renewing customers may receive a discount on their home insurance premiums on certain property coverages.
Whole House Water Leak Detection
By purchasing a qualifying leak detection device, Farmers new business and renewing customers may receive a discount on their home insurance premiums on certain property coverages.
In order for Whole House Water Leak Detection to qualify within the Home Protection and Loss Prevention or Home Safety discount, a customer must have a device that shuts off the main water service when a water leak is detected (via an automatic shut-off valve installed on the main water service piping between the water meter and the first branch piping).
Flo by Moen offers consumers device plus installation discounts via Farmers program designated website, meetflo.com/farmers.
* Not available in all states. Discount varies by state. It is important to note, only one feature under the existing Home Protection Loss Prevention or Home Safety discount can be selected per policy. For example, if a customer’s home could qualify for the Connected Home option because they have an ADT system with active monitoring and could also qualify for the Whole House Water Leak Detection option because they have a Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff device, only one of these options can be applied per policy.
